Sierra Space has announced two new agreements to enhance manufacturing capabilities in microgravity. The company will collaborate with California-based Astral Materials and Florida-based Space Forge Inc., a subsidiary of U.K.-based Space Forge Limited, focusing on semiconductor technologies and advanced materials.

Astral Materials specializes in using the unique conditions of space to grow high-quality semiconductor crystals, while Space Forge develops materials for commercial, national security, and research applications. The agreements include joint research, development, and operational input for Sierra Space’s projects, such as the Dream Chaser® spaceplane and future space station technologies.

Sierra Space CEO Tom Vice highlighted the importance of partnerships to harness microgravity and strengthen the space economy. Similarly, executives from Astral Materials and Space Forge emphasized the potential of these collaborations to accelerate innovations in in-space manufacturing.

These agreements aim to scale the commercial space industry and support the development of the LEO economy. (kib)

In case I access protected data on Internet portals of Vogel Communications Group including any affiliated companies according to §§ 15 et seq. AktG, I need to provide further data in order to register for the access to such content.
